Lyrics

The Fall

Humpty Dumpty took a fall
They finally caught him getting small
And no one ever came to his rescue
Humpty Dumpty had a hunch
That Jack and Jill were out to lunch
They were always getting high
by 10 am
And so he called his lover Mary
But the gag order made her contrary
And she never did arrive
with Humpty’s freedom

Bang bang hammer hammer
Humpty Dumpty’s in the slammer
And nobody cares nobody cares
Bang bang hammer hammer
Humpty Dumpty’s in the slammer
And nobody cares
If he takes that fall

I heard him talk before the fall
As he sat upon his border wall
Demonizing those who stood against him
Some thought that he must be kidding
While others planned to do his bidding
And when they did
he hung them out to dry
And showing no remorse or shame
And with always someone else to blame
There was no way he could confess the lie

Bang bang hammer hammer
Humpty Dumpty’s in the slammer
And nobody cares nobody cares
Bang bang hammer hammer
Humpty friends are in the slammer
And he doesn’t care
If they take that fall

Now some believed he was a savior
Should get time off for good behavior
He’s the quintessential case of affluenza
Humpty’s gift was in deceiving
He told his lies like he believed ‘em
Talking loud doesn’t make your right

If you starve the truth and feed the hate
There are always those who think it’s great
But they can’t save you from self destruction

Chorus
